Dhari Devi

Are you planning to go to Dhari Devi Uttarakhand? Then this blog will be informative for you we will give you all the important information about the Dhari Devi temple.

There is no dearth of mystical and ancient temples in India.  The mystic Temple of Maa Dhari Devi is a grand temple located in Srinagar Garhwal, Pauri district of Uttarakhand. This temple is dedicated to Kali Mata, who is considered the patron and palanquin goddess of Uttarakhand. In this temple, only the upper part of the idol of the goddess is located and the lower part is famous as Maa Maithana located in Kalimath.

Let us tell you that this temple is located at a distance of about 14 kilometers from Srinagar, where a miracle happens every day, which people are surprised to see. Actually, the idol of Mata present in this temple changes its form three times a day. The idol looks like a girl in the morning, then a young woman in the afternoon, and an old lady in the evening. This view is really astonishing.

Dhari Devi Mandir History

Mata Dhari Devi was the only sister of 7 brothers. Devi loved her seven brothers very much, she herself used to cook various types of food dishes for them and used to serve them very much. This story is from when Mata Dhari Devi was only seven years old. At such a young age, she used to cook food for her brothers, and used to give them a lot of love, because that same brother was the whole world to her. Due to the early passing of her parents, Devi was brought up at the hands of her brothers, but fate had something else in mind. Once his brothers came to know that their only sister's planets were bad for them, their brothers started hating them.

By the way, the seven brothers of Devi hated Dhari Devi since childhood, because the complexion of Ma Dhari Devi has been dark since childhood.

As time passed and the hatred towards the brothers of Devi increased, at one point it came that five brothers of the Devi died. And only two married brothers were left and the trouble of these two brothers kept increasing because these two brothers felt that some of our five brothers had died due to bad planets towards our only sister because they had to suffer from childhood. It was learned that our sister planets are bad for us.

One day the remaining two brothers, when that girl, that is, Ma Dhari, was only 13 years old, both of their brothers separated her head from her body and threw her dead body overnight on the bank of the river.

The torso of the goddess reached Dhari village, where a person took her out of the water. Then a voice came from the severed body of the Ma that I was born in the form of a goddess and she told everything about herself to that person and the Ma Said that you keep me in a holy place and after telling all this, that severed head took the form of a stone.

Since then that stone was worshiped there and a beautiful Dhari Devi temple was built there. And the part of that girl's torso became famous as Maa Maithani in Kalimath of Rudraprayag, here also there is a grand temple of the Ma, and this temple is also called body part.
